Many of you like the questions and answers on this blog. I just found another one from ‘The Iranian Girl’ who asks

i have an solo hsbc credit card and im a long term customer, i have it almost 4 years, but i need to buy some things on interner and visa card is required..does someone know how long it takes to get visa card? thanks to anyonenaa they do visa!!http://www.hsbc.com.hk/1/2/hk/cards/platinum

Answer: Usually a bank will issue and upgrade card within 2 years of the account being opened if you keep it within order and don’t overdraw or have to be issued with constant fee’s. Also getting a visa will depend on your account, if it’s just a basic current account you will probably have to request for an account upgrade where you will get the visa card. If you keep your account in order then give them a ring and ask if they will issue you with a visa rather then the solo. And the link you have provided is for a platinum account, these accounts are for high earners. They have a set minimum amount a person must pay in a month etc so check they do Visa’s for your account, some accounts will be issued with a Maestro over a Visa.
